Insurance and Credit Policy
Insurance and credit policies for our delivery partners
We strive to maintain accurate and up-to-date information regarding the insurance policies with various delivery partners. However, we do not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of the information. The policies outlined below are subject to change. Customers are encouraged to request confirmation of specific terms.
General insurance policy conditions
Insurance provider relationship
- Postfin does not act as the insurer and does not have a direct relationship with any insurance provider.
- The insurance coverage is an add-on service offered by our delivery partners, who have their own specific requirements and conditions for insurance eligibility.
- Customers must adhere to each partner’s policies to ensure coverage applies.
Maximum insurable amount
- Each delivery partner has a different maximum insurable amount for shipments.
- Coverage cannot exceed these limits, or special arrangements may need to be made for higher-value items.
Automatic coverage
- Each delivery partner offers automatic insurance coverage for shipments up to a specified value at no additional cost.
- Insurance exclusions are still applicable to the automatic coverage offered by our delivery partners.
- This amount varies between partners, and any shipments exceeding the automatic coverage limit will require additional insurance to be specified on a per-waybill basis.
Conditions to apply to
- Parcels must be packaged to withstand the normal rigours of transportation. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that parcels are packed according to the specifications of the Courier. If the Courier finds the parcel to be insufficiently packaged and conclude that damage was caused due to this reason, they have the right to deny the insurance claim.
Disclaimer on insurance exclusions
- Opting for insurance where exclusions apply will still incur an insurance cost as part of the shipping charge. Please note that reimbursement of the insurance portion will not be provided in such cases.
- Insurance payouts may still be denied if the shipment falls under one of the coverage exclusions.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to review the conditions and avoid opting for insurance on items for which coverage is not available.
- Postfin and the delivery partners reserve the right to reject claims that do not meet the specified conditions
Insurance costs
- The cost of insurance depends on several factors, which can vary across different delivery partners.
- Each partner has its own fee structure and pricing for insurance, which is automatically applied based on the shipment details.
- Costs for coverage may differ between partners, reflecting their individual terms and conditions.
Cost included in shipping rates
- Insurance costs are included in the shipping rate displayed during the order fulfillment and shipment creation process on the Bob Go platform.
- The insurance cost is based on the declared value entered on the Bob Go platform.
- The declared value must represent the cost price of the item(s) being shipped
- Insurance claims will be based on the lower of the declared value or the cost of the item(s).
Claims will not be paid on retail, market, or order values.
